Are you comfortable working with and interacting with students? SCK LAUNCH Experience Group Leaders are vital facilitators for Experience. As a group leader, you will interact with and guide students through the Experience event - from start to finish. Click here to view the two-page detail information packet that outlines the 'day-in-the-life' of a SCK LAUNCH Experience Group Leader. The most important part to remember about being a Group Leader is HOW EXCITED the students are to be participating in the Experience hands-on career expo.

Supervisor Certificate Program with the Training Consortium of South Central Kentucky

The Supervisor Certificate Program is a competency-driven program designed to build general supervisory skills, as well as the basics of leadership. The program addresses the needs of employees in a variety of roles:

  • Supervisors
  • First-line and first-time managers
  • Non-management technical professionals in a team or project leadership role
  • Newly hired supervisors and managers

Over a period of four months, cohorts meet twice a month for a full-day of supervisor training including courses on basic business practices, time management, problem solving and customer service. The model outlines three key area where supervisors have the most influence within the workplace: improving others, improving processes and improving self. The corresponding courses are designed to the build the supervisor competencies in these areas in order to increase an organization's productivity, improve efficiency and enhance employee morale. This course will be held at the Knicely Conference Center. The cost is $1,200.

Tentative Schedule is as follows with classes held from 7:30 AM-4:30 PM:

  • 8/22/18 – Kick-off & Supervisory Pre-Assessment and Supervisor Skills: Building a Strong Foundation
  • 9/5/18 – Effective Meetings and Successful Time Management
  • 9/19/18 – Emotional Intelligence and Adapting to Workplace Change
  • 10/3/18 – No Fear Public Speaking and Rational Problem Solving
  • 10/17/18 – Leadership Lessons and Coaching
  • 10/31/18 – Fair Supervisory Practices and Discipline Done Right
  • 11/14/18 – Conflict Management and Generational Communications
  • 11/28/18 – Developing a Winning Team and Developing a Proactive Workstyle
  • 12/12/18 – Motivating Yourself and Others and Program Wrap-up/Supervisory Post-Assessment & Graduation

South Central Kentucky Economic Development:
For 2018, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce has announced 10 economic development projects totaling $56.89 million in capital investment and 320 new jobs. For the second year in a row, Bowling Green was ranked second in Site Selection magazine's list of high-performing metros among communities with populations less than 200,000 based on total economic development projects for 2017.
